Rotate or flip an image
Turn a sideways photo upright, or mirror an image. Rotate it a quarter turn left or right, or flip it horizontally or vertically.
How to rotate an image
- Paste an image with Ctrl+V, drop a file on the page or press Load.
- The crop tool is open. The first two buttons in its bar rotate left and right, and the next two flip the image.
- Each press turns the image at once, and you can keep pressing. While the crop tool is open, [ and ] rotate too.
- Copy with Ctrl+C, or save as PNG, JPEG or WebP.
Flip or mirror an image
Flip horizontal swaps left and right, as a mirror does. Flip vertical swaps top and bottom.
Your marks turn with the image
Arrows, boxes, drawings, blurs and highlights you added before rotating stay on what they marked. Text moves with the image but stays upright, so it still reads left to right. Filters stay applied. While the crop tool is open you can also crop the turned image.
FAQ
Can I rotate by any angle?
No. The image turns in quarter turns only; there is no free rotation or straightening.
Does rotating lose quality?
Not the turn itself. A quarter turn or a flip moves whole pixels without blending them, so a PNG keeps them exactly. JPEG and WebP compress the image again when you save.
Can I undo a rotation?
Yes. Each turn or flip is one undo (Ctrl+Z).
Is my image uploaded?
No. Rotating runs locally in your browser, and the image never leaves your device.
