Annotate a screenshot online
Mark up a screenshot with arrows, text, boxes, circles and freehand lines. Paste it from the clipboard and copy the result back.
How to annotate a screenshot
- Paste a screenshot with Ctrl+V, drop a file on the page or press Load.
- The arrow tool is ready. Drag to point at something. For text, boxes or freehand lines, switch to Text (T), Shape (S) or Pen (D); Text also holds numbered steps (N).
- Hold Shift to constrain, and use the colour swatch and width controls to style each mark.
- Undo with the undo button or Ctrl+Z. Open History to revert any single edit.
- Copy with Ctrl+C, or save as PNG, JPEG or WebP.
Add an arrow to a screenshot
Pick an open or a filled head on the options bar, or check Both ends for a head at each end. Drag the grip in the middle of a selected arrow to bend it.
Number the steps
Press N, or pick Text and the circled 1 at the start of the options bar, then tap each spot in order. The Next number field shows what the next badge will say and advances after each click. Set it to 1 again, then pick another colour to start a second set on the same image. Changing the field leaves earlier badges alone. Drag a badge to move it, or pull a corner to resize it. Deleting a badge or cropping it out keeps the other numbers.
Add text or a caption
Press T, or pick Text and the T at the start of the options bar, then tap where the label goes to type it. Double-click any text later to edit it, or drag a corner to resize it.
Ring an area with a box or circle
Draw the box or circle with Shape, as a rectangle (S) or an ellipse (C), or by hand with Pen (D). Width, colour and opacity are adjustable per mark.
FAQ
Is my screenshot uploaded?
No. Annotation happens locally in your browser, and the image never leaves your device.
Can I remove one mark and keep later ones?
Yes. Revert that mark in History. The marks added after it stay.
