Paste (Ctrl+V), drop or click to load an image

Draw on an image

Draw on a photo or screenshot with a mouse, a finger or a stylus, in any colour and width.

How to draw on an image

  1. Paste an image with Ctrl+V, drop a file on the page or press Load.
  2. The pen tool is ready. Drag across the image to draw; D picks it again from any other tool.
  3. Change the colour and the opacity from the swatch (F), and the width in the options bar.
  4. Undo a stroke with the undo button or Ctrl+Z, or revert any one of them from History.
  5. Copy with Ctrl+C, or save as PNG, JPEG or WebP.

Straight lines, arrows and shapes

The Arrow button draws arrows (A) and straight lines (G), and the Shape button boxes (S) and ellipses (C). Switch between them at the start of the options bar. Hold Shift while you drag to keep a line to 45° steps or a box square. To mark up a screenshot, see annotate a screenshot.

Change a stroke afterwards

Pick the Move tool (V) and click a stroke to move it, drag a corner to stretch it, or give it another colour, width or opacity. Delete or the bin button at the end of the options bar removes it. A new stroke stays selected, so you can remove it without switching tools.

Drawing on a phone

Draw with one finger. Put a second finger down to pinch and zoom in for detail; a stroke you had started is dropped when the second finger lands.

FAQ

Is my image uploaded?

No. The drawing happens in your browser, and the image never leaves your device.

Does it use pen pressure?

Yes, when your pen and browser report pressure. Press harder for a wider stroke. With a mouse, finger or pen without pressure, the width stays at the value you set.

Can I draw on a blank page?

No. Load an image to draw on. There is no empty canvas to start from.
